This past weekend, NCC’s owner, Dr. Nienow, had the opportunity to help Normandale Community College faculty and students over a two day exploration on the grounds of Villa Maria near historic Frontenac Minnesota. This area has seen successive waves of trade, settlement, and amazing vistas for over 8,000 years including Native American, French, and American archaeological sites.
Dr. Nienow led students in discussions related to local history, Cultural Resource Management, and careers in archaeology – as well as hands on learning in experimental archaeology and shovel testing.
It was a rewarding experience which NCC hopes to continue participating in over the years to come.
